Like fine scotches, this one is a bit of an acquired taste. I initially tried the 4-cup sample, then ordered the 15-cup bag—only to wish I had ordered the 70-cup bag. The more I drank it, the more I liked it!
My usual habit is to drink my tea hot in the morning, then to re-infuse the tea in ice water for a gentle ice tea during the day. This tea lends itself well to this practice and makes a really good cold tea.
If you like drinking scotch, you will love this tea. If you have never consumed some of the heavier whiskies from Scotland, you might initially have a tough time with the smokiness of this tea's flavor. The scent and flavor of toffee really comes through with this tea. The scent of a good scotch is just as important as its flavor, This tea follows that. It is worth giving it a decent try.
